Laura Cannon & Kyle Alexander

Laura Cannon & Kyle Alexander

Laura Cannon and Kyle Alexander were married at Veteran's Terrace in Burlington, WI. The images in this gallery were captured around Burlington including Echo Park, the train depot and a cool pedestrian bridge. Burlington has so much to offer.  The sunset on Echo Park was astounding.  To view more images from this wedding follow this link: Wedding Photos at Veteran's Terrace in Burlington.

Jen Burgh & Brian Early Tie the Knot

Jen & Brian were married in Delavan, WI at St. Andrews Catholic Church.  Photos followed in Williams Bay and Yerkes Observatory.  The reception was at The Abbey Resort in Fontana, WI.  Below are some samples of my favorite images from this wedding.  If you would like to view the entire gallery you can follow this link...Wedding reception at The Abbey Resort.

Justin & Jenny's big day

Justin & Jenny's big day

One of my favorite weddings.  Well I love so many I can't really pick a favorite.  Here are the features that make a wedding like this one so fun.

  1. Unique...I love it when the bride chooses themes that are different.  Jenny chose pink to honor Breast Cancer Awareness.
  2. First Look...I love the first look because it is romantic and take so much pressure off the day and allows me to shoot many more photos for the happy couple.
  3. Deep colored skies.
  4. Energetic bridal party.  When the bridal party is wild and crazy they tend to be more open to suggestions.  This often leads to new and fresh poses and photo journalistic moments.
  5. Great music choices for the ceremony and reception.  I really dug the music at Jenny and Justin wedding.
  6. Time.  When we have time, especially with the couple, to shoot, we are able to create beautiful and dramatic imagery.
  7. Weather.  We can't control the weather but when it is in the 70s, even when it is kind of humid, it really helps not to worry about losing the wedding party over the cold or heat.

Angie & Jeremy's Grand Wedding

Angie & Jeremy's Grand Wedding

Angie and Jeremy tied the knot at Grand Geneva on may 14, 2011.  It was unfortunately a cold and rainy kind of day but Grand Geneva is a wonderful venue for having an indoor wedding as an alternative to the outdoor.   Angie had a very unique trellis set up which really dressed up the indoor wedding idea.

From the first look to the bride walking down the aisle know one can deny that Jeremy loves Angie with all his heart.  I admire a guy who can express his emotions.  Below you can see a sample of the images from their wedding.  Or you can view the entire gallery by clicking on this link: Grand Geneva Wedding in Lake Geneva, WI.

Angie & Jeremy's Wedding

Angie & Jeremy's Wedding

Angie Rue and Jeremy Whatley were married at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, WI on May 14, 2011.   What a wonderful day for love and relationships!  Starting with the first look I was impressed with how much Jeremy loves Angie and of course vice versa.  So many men struggle to show emotion but Jeremy was more than comfortable letting his emotions show for Angie.

The wedding party was fun and easy to work with.  While it was a cold and wet day the bridal party took good care of Angie and her dress so she was able to walk down the isle with a spotless dress.  Check out some of the images in this blog or visit their entire gallery by going to this link:  Grand Geneva wedding in May.

Samantha Dickman & Doug Dalsing - May 7, 2011

Samantha Dickman & Doug Dalsing - May 7, 2011

Samantha and Doug are a fun loving couple and Max and I were honored to be part of their big day.  They chose a masquerade  party approach with masks, feathers and an amazing dress!  We started out at Samantha's mom's house in Lake Geneva for some getting ready photos.  Then we went to Grand Geneva for the first look before having the ceremony at the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church.  After shooting the ceremony we moved into an extended wedding party session and we started that at The Riviera. There were lots of other weddings in addition to the Lake Geneva Marathon and prom that day!  But the hustle and bustle only added to the excitement and fun!  After the Riv we went over to Yerkes Observatory to shoot some additional shots with the amazing architecture and bold beautiful skies we had on Saturday.

Finally we went to the reception at Hawk's View Golf Club.  The food was amazing and the entertainment was provided by Midwest Sound.  Samantha's over the top dress was designed by San Patrick.  To view the hi-res images from this wedding follow this link.  Lake Geneva, May 2011 Wedding including The Riviera, Yerkes and Hawk's View.

Max Biedermann was the lead photographer for this wedding and in my humble opinion did a fantastic job.  It was fun and challenging to serve as the second shooter/assistant for once.

Natalie & Mark's Wedding

Natalie & Mark's Wedding

Natalie and Mark were married at The Rotunda in downtown Waukesha.  While the day turned out to be cold and windy you could see the warmth and love on Mark's eyes every time he gazed at his beautiful bride.

We started by meeting up in the parking lot of Waukesha State Bank.  There is an unbelievably gorgeous river walk with bridges, archways, rock structures and gazebo.  The rain held off just in time to get photos we needed.   Then when we reached Rotunda and wanted to shoot some romantics in front of the majestic main entrance it started snowing!  Yes, it snowed on April 16th!  But I think the snowflakes really added something to the shots.  Below are some favorite images from the day.  To see all the photos from the day click on this link: Wedding photos at the Rotunda in downtown Waukesha.

Katie Smith and Brent Nicholson Wedding

Katie Smith and Brent Nicholson Wedding

Katie and Brent were married at the Westin in Chicago.  We started out with a first look in the bridal suite and then headed off on the trolley to the Planetarium to get some skyline shots and shoot the wedding party.  While it was a beautiful sunny day the weather was a bit nippy with the wind.  But nothing could put a damper on the love that Katie and Brent have for each other.  Katie was absolutely stunning and Brent couldn't stop smiling.

2010 Best Of - The Ring Shot

2010 Best Of - The Ring Shot

I decided to do a series of Best Of photos from 2010.   This blog entry shows my favorite ring shots this year. Most of these photos were shot in Walworth County, Lake Geneva.  Venues included Grand Geneva or The Abbey Resort doesn't really matter because they were mostly shot with a Canon 100mm macro lens and so you can't tell where the photos were taken.  However, the detail that this lens provides and the blur it creates is astounding.  It was one of my best investments in 2010.

Some of these bands were breath taking.  We really try hard to come up with unique and beautiful backdrops for the ring shots.  Below are a few examples.

Nell & Eduardo Wedding

Nell & Eduardo Wedding

The week of October 16 was a whirlwind week.  Nell and Eduardo flew in from Puerto Rico and we shot their engagement session two days before their wedding.  Eduardo is self admittedly a little camera shy.  However, after shooting with me for an hour he was legitimately excited for the photography for wedding day.

Now, I have been to a lot of weddings and a lot of GREAT weddings this year. But wow! This was a lot of fun. The reception had three bands and a DJ!  The entertainment at the reception started out with Las Guitarras de Espana with Carlo Basile performing a wonderful Flamenco dance.  One of the bands was AfriCaribe.  They brought out the "Bomba Dancer" out in dozens of guests who formed a tight circle formed around the group known for their African-Puerto Rican-Caribbean flavor of music and dance.  Then, after all that incredible entertainment another band appeared and rocked the house.  The Robert Allen Jr. Band was so good the entire crowd insisted on having them come back for an encore.  The wedding was at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Fontana. We took a Lake Geneva Cruise Line boat to Lake Geneva Country Club on truly one of the best days of the entire year!  What a day!

The hi-res versions of this wedding are located at this link.  Below you will see some sample photos from their wedding day and engagement session.  Comments welcome on the photos below.
